what is your shipping and returns policy?
we offer free shipping via USPS 2-3 Day Priority Mail. we gladly accept returns and can either issue a full refund (minus a $10 return fee) or store credit (return fee waived). click here for the details.
is your check-out process secure?
yes. we make it a priority to protect your personal information. our site runs on top of shopify, a software solution that handles our check-out process. shopify uses 128-bit SSL encryption technology to protect your information. the "https:" tag and padlock that appear in your browser's address bar during check-out indicate that you are on a secure site.
how did you come up with the name pixiedusk?
“pixie” originated as a variant of “picks” (the original thought was “twenty picks”). from there, “pixiedusk” quickly came into being - a twist on “pixie dust” that includes founder julie’s favorite time of day!
did you design your collection?
no. we have hand-selected the styles in our collection from a variety of designers and brands. this, plus the fact that we feature so few items at a time, allows us to have a curated and consistent collection that represents our style aesthetic - simple, effortless, and chic. if there's a brand you'd like to see featured, please let us know!
why do you only carry tops?
more than any other article of clothing, we think tops (can) stand out. they are often the most noticeable thing we wear and tend to dominate an outfit. wearing jeans and a tissue tee is quite different than wearing jeans and a silk blouse, for example. although we think tops are important, we found it surprisingly difficult to find good-quality ones that were chic, interesting, unique, and affordable. we wanted pixiedusk to solve that problem. we carefully handpick each top and craft our small collection to represent different styles and wearing occasions, yet meet high standards for interesting design and solid construction.
what else can we expect?
our focus right now is introducing ourselves to the world. however, we're doing a little thinking ahead. we believe that the small details make a big difference, and are looking to make some tweaks that improve your experience on the site. we'd like to try playing around with video, for example, and to experiment with different ways of presenting our tops. we also plan to introduce some new brands. finally, we are thinking about expanding to another product category or two. exciting times ahead - stay tuned!
